check out what we have been up to over the past weeks

 As part of our provocation we are learning lots about our animal world. The children love to create.                         Shaquille is very busy creating a farm. 

Here is Noah creating a Zoo with his blocks and wild animals.

Check out this groups awesome dinosaur world.

Each group started at one of the animal world stations and created and then other children could add to the station but could not move or break what was already constructed.

This is one of our new literacy stations where the children are finding the lower case letter to match the capital letter.

Over the last two weeks we have being doing the mathematics strand  Geometry . Here the children are sorting shapes into groups decided by them.

Then as a class we walked around the school finding all the shapes they could find. Then they had to tell me the shapes and describe them Using the correct terms.

"What shape have you found William?" "lots of circles, William replies.

Rikki-Daley and Peyton put all the different shape blocks and other materials to create this awesome castle.

Here is an example of the children's information report on Kangaroos. The children create their art piece then told me facts about Kangaroo which were typed up and added to their work.

The children all chose and animal which we found a photograph then they all had to sketch and colour their animal.

Week 2 exciting times in Room 6 check it out,

                     
                       Kiwi sport day with Room 1 &6. we are working on  special movements,  rolls,  balance activities in gymnastics this term. We will be continuing our gymnastics unit as well in.each class

     It was super exciting that Jyuvana and her Mum brought joey and the baby bunnies to school, This  
     was so exciting for the children. They got to pat the bird who was walking around the classroom.  
                      They all cuddled the baby rabbits and patted the large mummy rabbit.

                   All of the children showed their very caring and gentle side with the rabbits and birds.

                                             Run bunnies run they were having a ball.

                         More bunnies running wild in room 6 probable keen to get away from all the  
                                                   squeezing that was happening to them.

 Measurement time we were looking at using non stander measure too ls to find out the length something is. We drew and hands and feet then used the cube blocks to measure the length of our hands and feet,

                             We then measured how far they can jumped off a one foo jump.
