Room 7 NZ Sign Language Week

Last week it was NZ sign language week. Dallas  Doig our hearing impaired student has a support teacher for the deaf has been working with the class to learn some basic sign language . Greetings.

Thumbs up. good job, okay

As part of our class provocation Knowing me knowing you we interviewed Sam and she explained to the Children about Dallas's hearing problem, how his hearing aides work and how the transmitter that i wear around my work helps Dallas to hear everyone.

The children have been practicing their sign language with Sam.  Every week we are learning different things to sign like colours things in our classroom.

The children love showing off their signing skills.
