Our Transport Trip...

On Thursday 20th August Room 6 went on a transport adventure, we did it for our provocation learning about transport.  We drove to the airport, Yaldhurst transport museum and Lyttelton through the tunnel!

Term 3

Kia Ora and Talofa Whanau Nau Mai Haere Mai ki Wahanga 3 (Hello family Welcome back to Term 3)

This term we Welcome Whaea Jo into Room 6 another teacher!
We also welcome to school this term:
Oziah, Kaya, Liam, Savanna, Bella, Riley and Briana

For our provocation this term we have been learning about different forms of transport and will be going on a trip Thursday 20th August

Awesome weeks8and 9

The children were very excited following the visit to see the orchestra to have their own percussion music session with Mrs Head's husband Murray who is a very talented musician. Murray demonstrated all his amazing collection of different instruments and talked to the children about how and what they are made of. 

All of the children got to play the drums and the other instruments. Love your drumming Erika.

Jyuvana and Montana are rocking it out. They definitely had the beat

Josiah is going to be a rock star he really made a noise great drumming.

Noah just loved his drumming experience.

Following up our music session with Murray we got out the instruments and created our own music and leant how to do a variety of beats and rhyme with the instruments. Check out the children having a go.

The children loved our first session of making music. So we created our band and played along to a variety of snags and rotated the instruments. Jaxon just loved the Cymbols check out that action. Noah on the drums.

Noah William and Peyton on xylophones and Aria on the clickers. They were awesome.

week 6 Adventure time with Room 6

Wow the weeks are flying by .Week 6 was very exciting with our class trip to Orana Park then a surprise trip to the Antarctic Centre. This was to follow up on our awesome provocation around animals.

The children created a Penguin colony just like at the Antarctic centre.

Searching through the National geographic Magazines the children cut out lots of animals so we could make our own animal world A-Z Alphabet poster.

Last Thursday I took the class on a trip to Orana park to check out all the animals we have been learning about during our literacy and provocation. 

Shaquille is holding a Rhino's horn we learnt that it is the same as humans finger nails.

The Giraffe feeding was a huge success with the children.

"Come on Giraffe eat my leaves," said Shaquille.

The Giraffe is really enjoying his early breakfast of banana and other fruity bits.

       Noah, Hailey, Jyuvana and Jaxon all having a go at feeding the giraffes.

The giraffes are feeding on Willow leaves .

The baby giraffe is enjoying feeding on this fresh basket of hay.

Time for a train ride around the park. Noah looks a bit tired from all the walking.

Tim to meet the baby cheetahs whose Mother didn't want to feed them. So the zoo keeper is their new mother. She bottled fed them from the day they were born.

Big surprise of the day was a surprise trip to the antarctic centre to see the snow room and to feel how cold it is for the Penguins who live at the antarctic. Shaquille,Peyton and Aria in the Igloo.

"Lets go for a ride on the snow mobile Peyton," said Levi.

"Look at me i am sliding like a Penguin," said Jaxon. My little Penguins sitting quietly.

Its getting dark and the storm is coming it is going to get very cold.

The children then created animals out of clay. This is Peyton's Penguins and eggs. Well done Peyton.
