week 7

Numeracy stations. The children having being working hard this term on their number identification, numbers before and after in a range of 0-20. Lots of materials are used to achieve their learning intentions. Xavier has been using our number mats to find his numbers as his peers call out a number he jumps on the correct number.

Kady is using our number cards to order  the numbers correctly from 0-10 then show me what that number looks like using our dot pattern cards. So not only identifying what the number is how to make it and matching a visuals they can see  what a 7 pattern is.

Shaquille and Erika working cooperatively to complete a numeracy station around ordering and identifying dot patterns to match the correct number in the green cards. from here we develop before and after numbers what it looks like and how to quickly build that number with a variety of materials.

The children had achieved getting all  the warm fuzzes from one jar to the other.  When this is completed we decide on a class treat. The warm fuzzes are used to reward positive behaviours within the classroom to encourage the children to be on task doing the right thing in Room 6. So for a reward we made pancakes. William Jyuvana and Peyton are  shaking the mixture and preparing  what we need for our treat.

they were so excited they couldn't wait for them to ccok.

The mixture is poured into our electric fry pan and now we wait for the bubbles to appear before we flip the pancake over. Finally they are cooked.

Next we add our Strawberry Jam and the whipped cream on top. They really loved this treat . So we look forward to the jar being full again soon. The children enjoy these simple cooking tasks and just love helping make the treat special.
